GM Cancelling the Malibu Eco

Cancelled.

It has been the talk of the forums and everyone in the gearhead and automotive world are decrying the cancellation of the Malibu Eco. Most people saw it coming and claim it is a result of GM's adherece to what many think of as a proven failure: the eAssist system.

Gone but Not Forgotten

As a result of improvements in the 2.5 liter gas engine, the 2014 Malibu base model provides the exact same MPG as the hybrid but for a lower price. Looks like GM made a boo boo on this one.

The Malibu Eco used a now obsolete 2.4 liter unit powered by a lithium-ion power source which was trunk mounted and reduced cargo space. So it seems that axing the Eco was a complete no-brainer for GM although the eAssist system will limp on in Buick Regals and LaCrosse models.

Eco-Conscious Choices

The world's various eco-systems and the climate in general have been a subject that is very worrisome for many individuals nowadays. There is a growing movement for us to try and reverse the destruction that we have done to the Ozone and many individuals are forcing to use eco-helpful items instead of ones that keep damaging the atmosphere. It seems that everything is being considered these days, from the way we bring our food to the kind of washing utility caddy we use. However, the tiny problems are not the only factors that are modifying. Our outfits, houses, and even vehicles must become more eco-conscious as well. This content will look at some of the vehicles that are making the transformation and modifying to a eco-friendly way of life.

Not Yet Ready to Give Up Your Gas Card?

If you like the concept of a non-fuel car but don't want to completely leavee the petrol behind then there are two designs that may still perform for you. The Chevy Volt and the Rav4 now allow customers to select their energy source. Energy sources differ from conventional vehicles because they use electricity to perform the car rather than gas. Locations like Whole Foods even offer their customers a place to recharge their vehicles while they are purchasing. Anticipate to see these asking for channels to be available in places more and more. If you are too terrified to absolutely modify from a gas motor then the Chevy Volt may be best for you. It will still offer you with the choice to change to petrol if your battery energy reduces.

The Hybrids Are Coming

Speaking of vehicles that function on elcetric-power and on petrol, these are generally known as hybrid models. They do differ from modern vehicles but it can be easy to be befuddled. There are actually pickups that are now modifying to the multiple edition. This is awesome since up until now we have only seen vehicles. Trucks offer more saving energy and that is not something that individuals are willing to offer up for little sized green vehicles. However, now they do not have to compromise their design for eco helpful choices. Some choices for a larger vehicles would consist of a Chevy Silverado 1500 or GMC Sierra 1500. Both of these have a few choices to select from based on what you are looking at particularly. Maybe you still want to have a high-class car. Well, Lincoln provides their customers a few different choices in a SUV or car. The new 2013 Lincoln GS 450h Hybrid looks awesome for next season.
